On Wednesday, June 27, CAIR-Columbus Legal Director, Romin Iqbal, appeared on WOSU’s “All Sides with Ann Fisher” to discuss issues relating to the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the Muslim ban.
The segment also featured Ted Hesson, immigration reporter for Politico, Chris Hajec, attorney for Immigration Reform Law Institute, and Angie Plummer of the Community Refugee & Immigration Services. During the segment, Romin Iqbal debated Chris Hajec on various aspects of the Supreme Court decision.
“This ban will not enhance the national security of our country. It has been over a year since the first iteration of this ban came out and the White House has still not been able to demonstrate that this ban is based on an actual national security factual predicate,” said Iqbal. “This Supreme Court decision now allows the President to not only expand this ban to other Muslim countries but also to countries in Central America.”
