CAIR-Columbus Organizes Rally for Kashmir

(COLUMBUS, OH, 8/14/19) – On Friday, August 9, CAIR-Columbus organized a rally to protest India’s siege of Kashmir and to urge the U.S. State Department to pressure India to end its aggression.

Roughly 200 people attended the event, which took place on Friday evening at the Ohio Statehouse. Click here to view photos from the rally.

The government of India has not only revoked the protected status of the Kashmir Valley, but has also put the entire Valley under a draconian 24-hour curfew since Saturday, August 3, 2019. The Indian government has also imposed a communication blackout on the Valley by suspending internet and phone services. Local Ohioans who have families in Kashmir have been unable to speak to their loved ones and are extremely worried about the safety of their families held captive in their own homes.
