About the event
We look forward to hosting you, highlighting the challenges and victories of the past year, and sharing our plans for further community empowerment, civic engagement, challenges to Islamophobia, and trainings for our youth to become the next generation of leaders! This year we are celebrating 25 years of service. We are blessed with another year working to promote justice, protect civil rights, and empower our community.
Banquet attendees will also meet the winners of CAIR Ohio’s 2022 Community Empowerment Awards.

Dalia Mogahed
Scholar & Researcher
Bio
Dalia Mogahed is a researcher, pollster, author, advisor and consultant who studies Muslim communities. As director of research at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, Dalia Mogahed keeps her finger on the pulse of the Muslim world. She served on Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in 2009, advising the president on how faith-based organizations can help government solve persistent social problems.
Mogahed is former Executive Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, a non-partisan research center that provided data and analysis to reflect the views of Muslims all over the world. She and John Esposito co-authored the book Who Speaks For Islam?: What a Billion Muslims Really Think, based on 6 years of research and more than 50,000 interviews representing Muslims in more than 35 predominantly Muslim countries. Accounting for more than 90% of the world’s Muslim community, this poll is the largest, most comprehensive study of its kind.
Mogahed later appeared as a commentator in the award-winning, PBS-broadcast documentary Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think (2010), which was based on her and Esposito’s book and produced by Unity Productions Foundation.

Bio
Altaf Husain is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a double alumnus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, having earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and his M.S. in Social Work. He received his Ph.D. in Social Work from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Husain’s research interests include the mental health and integration of immigrant and refugee families, and especially Muslim adolescents, in the United States. He serves as founding Vice President of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and an advisory board member of the Peaceful Families Project -dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence.
His past service to the community includes serving as a two-term national president of the Muslim Students Association (MSA National), an executive committee member of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA) and Vice President of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Dr. Husain and his family live in Northern Virginia.

Bio
Alauddin Alauddin has been a resident of Ohio for over 15 years and has served as a community leader within various organizations in the area.
As the Founder and President of The360Muslim.com, Alauddin uses coaching, facilitation, and mediation techniques to guide individuals and families towards a life of purpose and accomplishment. He is also the Vice President of Muslim Family Services of Ohio, a Columbus, Ohio based social service organization, governed by Islamic principles, that strives to help families in crisis, such as the displaced or homeless and women in abusive situations.

What is the event for?

Yes, both banquet venues are accessible to all. There are elevators and railing throughout the buildings.
What is included with a sponsorship?

What is a table sponsorship?
A table sponsorship includes premium seating and complimentary tickets for 10 individuals. An individual or business name can be displayed on the table.
We recommend purchasing a table sponsorship for guaranteed group seating.
What is the children’s enrichment program?
Hired specialists will be conducting the Children’s Enrichment Program for kids ages 4-11. Kids meals will be provided to those participating in the child enrichment program.

Do I need to purchase an individual ticket for my child if they are participating in the enrichment program?
Yes, child enrichment tickets are sold separately from general admission tickets.
If I buy multiple individual tickets, will we be seated together?
We recommend purchasing a table to ensure you and your party are seated together. We can not guarantee seating together for individually purchased tickets.
Will I be able to sit with my family? Will men and women be seated together?
Family seating is available when tickets are purchased in one transaction.
Men and women will be seated together at the banquet.
Can I purchase tickets at the event?
Tickets will likely sell out prior to the date of the event so we can not guarantee tickets will be sold at the door.
I can’t make it to the event, can I get a refund?
No, we are unable to offer refunds.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else if I can’t attend?

Is there a dress code?
We encourage all of our guests to dress their best for the banquet.
Will the food be zabiha/halal?
The menu for the night will include a zabiha halal chicken option as well as a vegetarian option for those that make that request.
Will we pray Salah in congregation?
Maghreb Salah is included in the program and we intend to pray in congregation.
