Biden’s Coronavirus Relief package

 

On Wednesday March 10, the House passed a $1.9 Trillion pandemic relief package. The following groups of people are eligible for the checks:

– $1,400 for a single taxpayer making less than $75,000 annually 

– $2,800 for a married couple making less than $150,000 that files jointly plus $1,400/ dependent 

– Dependents will also be receiving checks (students and disabled)

The Relief Package will also include:

– $50 billion in direct aid to small businesses

– Extending the $300 weekly federal boost to unemployment benefits through August.  

– Expanding the child tax credit up to $3,600 per child. 

– Up to $7,000 for COVID funeral reimbursements

– Free Cobra premiums

The first batch of payments is expected to go out before April 1. Tens of millions of direct deposit recipients could receive a check before April 1, followed by staggered start dates for physical checks and EIP cards.
