Ohio moved its presidential primary election to late April and conducted it almost entirely by mail.

The Ohio General Assembly has put in place a plan that will allow all Ohioans to continue voting by mail until April 28

How are you supposed to vote now?

By Mail– Ohio allows no-excuse absentee voting. You can request a paper ballot be mailed to you, fill it out, and send it back. 

o   Download the form here, fill it out by hand, put a stamp on the envelope and mail it to your local board of elections. 

o   Visit the site here (https://www.ohiosos.gov/elections/voters/absentee-ballot/) to create a pdf, put a stamp on the envelope and mail it to your local board of elections.

o   Or call your county board of elections to ask for a ballot request to be mailed to you.

In person – ONLY voters with disabilities, such as visual impairment, and those who are unable to receive mail, can cast ballots in person at their county voting center on April 28.

Voting Deadlines –

·      April 25 by 12 pm – Deadline to request a ballot

·      April 27 Deadline to have your ballots postmarked 

·      April 28 – Deadline to drop off your ballot to your county board of elections, ballots must be received by the county board of elections before the polls close.

Exceptions: Those who are unable to apply by that deadline because of an unforeseeable hospitalization can request a ballot by 3 p.m. on April 28.
