Part of our mission is to build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding. To that end, much of our work involves community education and outreach. We work to establish and maintain solid relationships with the community – via schools, places of worship, youth organizations, and other community-based organizations, as well as interfaith and coalition partners that share common values. We organize conferences and training seminars for
businesses, government agencies, media professionals and the academic community to clarify Islamic practices and to discuss community issues. We also provide sensitivity and diversity training workshops to employers, educators and organizations.

PROMOTING VOLUNTEERISM
Our “Muslims Care” community service campaign encourages Muslims to be actively involved in service projects and activities that benefit the wider community. Through the campaign, our community members are encouraged to take part in volunteer activities such as blood drives, health awareness fairs, mentoring, Race for the Cure events, and Habitat for Humanity. Locally, our Muslims Care Campaign has sustained our Feeding Families program for over 15 consecutive years and has fed nearly 34,000 families at the YWCA Family Center.
