Support our Safe Schools Initiative – Sponsor an Educator’s Guide Packet

A recent survey conducted by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (IPSU) found that 42% of Muslim students in grades K-12 have reported bullying because of their faith.  Even more alarming was the finding that one in four bullying incidents of Muslim students involved a teacher or school official.

In light of these disturbing statistics, CAIR-Columbus has initiated an anti-bullying campaign which includes teacher and administrator education as a main component.  Our new Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices is a comprehensive guide that will assist teachers, principals, administrators and other educators in formulating and implementing policies and programs that will help to create a culturally sensitive and supportive academic environment for our Muslim students.

Our goal is to ensure that at least 5,000 copies of our Educator’s Guide are distributed throughout Ohio schools.  In order to reach this goal, we will need community support to cover the cost of printing and mailing these guides.

Please make a gift today to support this project.  You can choose to sponsor a package of your choice, or donate a custom amount.  Any amount is appreciated!

HOW ELSE CAN I HELP?

VOLUNTEER – to take a packet of Educator’s Guides to your child’s school (to give to the Principal for distribution).  This will save us the cost of postage!

REQUEST – free copies of the guide to give directly to your child’s teachers.  We want to ensure that the guides are not only given to administrators, but that they also get directly into the hands of teachers who have Muslim students.
