How to vote

1. In person on Election Day
· 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023.

3. By mail (Absentee Voting)
· No excuse is required.
· Must be postmarked by May 1st and received by your county board of elections no later than 10 days after the election. You can also drop off an absentee ballot in person at your county board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on May 2nd.

1. Proof of identification is required in order to vote. There are several types of valid ID.

• Photo ID: Unexpired federal or state issued ID with an acceptable photo, full name of the voter, and voter’s current address.

Note: An unexpired Ohio Driver License, State ID Card, or Interim Documentation with your former address IS an ACCEPTABLE form of ID when your current address is in the pollbook.

• Military ID: A valid military identification must be accepted regardless of whether they contain a name or address.

• Utility Bill

• Bank Statement

• Government Check

• Paycheck

• Other Government Document

• For utility bills, bank statements, government checks, paychecks, and other government documents, date of documents must be within the last 12 months.

2. Unacceptable forms of ID:
• Social Security card, Passport, Birth Certificate (if current address is different from Birth Certificate address), and Insurance Card.

If you do not have above valid forms of ID on Election Day, you can request a provisional ballot but must go to your county’s Board of Elections within seven days and present your ID.

On Election Day

• If polls close while you are in line, STAY IN LINE – you have the right to vote.

• If the machines are down, ask for a paper ballot.

• If a pollworker says you are not on the list, spell out your name. Ask if there is a supplementary list. Check your polling location. If they still cannot find you, REQUEST A PROVISIONAL BALLOT.
